The 47-year-old star of “That ’70s Show” has been moved out of Central California’s Corcoran State Prison, a maximum security facility that formerly housed cult leader Charles Manson. Masterson was transferred to the California Men’s Colony, a state prison in San Luis Obispo, California, which is exclusively for men, according to online records from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Masterson was moved to the new prison on February 16, a CDCR spokesman confirmed to USA TODAY Monday. The CDCR further stated that “by law” it “cannot disclose information about reasons for transfers or detailed housing information.” According to the CDCR, the minimum and medium security jail is divided into two complexes.

From “cognitive behavior therapy programs, substance abuse education, criminal thinking, anger management, and family relationships,” according to the facility’s website, to a variety of self-improvement and educational initiatives.Danny Masterson, the actor from “That ’70s Show,” transferred to a high security facility that had previously housed Charles Manson. Records from January indicated that Masterson had been moved to Corcoran State Prison, which had been housing Manson since 1989.

According to the prisons administration, that facility is one of ten facilities for the “most violent and dangerous male offenders” in the state. The action followed a state judge’s denial of Masterson’s bail awaiting his appeal in January, according to documents obtained by The Wrap and Deadline, who determined that he posed a flight risk. Judge Charlaine Olmedo of Los Angeles Superior Court said, “If defendant’s conviction and sentence are upheld on appeal, he will likely remain in custody for decades, if not the rest of his life.”

“In light of the fact that defendant has no wife to go home to, defendant now has every incentive to flee and little reason to return to state prison to serve out the remainder of his lengthy sentence should his appeal be unsuccessful.””That ’70s Show’ star Danny Masterson begins serving a 30-year to life sentence in a state penitentiary.

In addition, Olmedo pointed out that Masterson has “every incentive to flee and little reason to return to state prison to serve out the remainder of his lengthy sentence should his appeal be unsuccessful,” alluding to his recent breakup with actress and estranged wife Bijou Phillips, who filed for divorce approximately a week after his sentencing on September 7. Masterson was given a 30-year to life sentence after it was found that he had raped two women last year.

The actor was admitted to North Kern State Prison in California, according to confirmation from the authorities in December, as reported by The Associated Press. Masterson was earlier informed by Olmedo during his sentence that he is “not the victim here,” and that “your actions 20 years ago took away another person’s voice and choice.”

You’ll have to accept the results of your earlier deeds in one way or another.” Masterson will be available for parole in July 2042, according to prison statistics. By then, the 47-year-old will be 66 years old.
