The Cleveland Cavaliers committed 18 team turnovers against the Orlando Magic, which infuriated Jarrett Allen.
Jarrett Allen offered no justifications for his team’s performance. We’re responsible, Allen said. On Thursday night against the Orlando Magic, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ flow was off, which resulted in a lot of careless play on both the offensive and defensive ends.
“We had seventeen turnovers, which is not acceptable given the objectives we have. Simple mistakes of the mind. It involved a lot of simple out-of-bounds ball throwing. I am aware that on a few occasions, the ball simply slid out of my hands. All of us were merely making errors.” Cleveland gave up eighteen points to the Magic in turnovers.
Orlando was able to secure the victory by converting those errors into 28 points. Many of these turnovers were, as JA mentioned, odd errors that the Cavaliers hardly ever commit. Allen added that the Magic did a fantastic job of upping the tempo of the game and getting physical with the Cavaliers, which made them uncomfortable all night long.
This unease could also be the cause of the Cavs’ numerous errors. Orlando demonstrated the Cavaliers’ new-look offense, which is detailed in the scouting report. “A lot of teams are going to put pressure on us defensively,” stated JA. We’ll have to earn our buckets the hard way.”
Having said that, Allen said that their defeat to the Magic was a “great test” that only served to further their development in the final 28 games leading up to the playoffs. The Philadelphia 76ers, who ended the Cavs’ nine-game winning streak just one and a half weeks ago, will be the team they play next. This will be a fantastic opportunity for Cleveland to see how a playoff clash might play out.
