In the last 4:29 of the game, UCLA limited Oregon to two points, thanks to 21 points and seven assists from Dylan Andrews, as UCLA won 71-63 on Saturday in Los Angeles. After the Ducks’ late arrival caused the game to start later than expected, the Bruins (11-11, 6-5 Pac-12) surged out to an 18-point lead less than eight minutes into the contest.

Due to gridlock caused by a nearby presidential procession, Oregon’s tip-off time had to be moved back. The Ducks(15-5,7-4) came back to lead by one point at the break, laying the groundwork for a closely fought second half. With 4:30 left, Jermaine Couisnard made a 3-pointer to trim Oregon’s deficit to 62-61.

It took Jackson Shelstad’s layup with six seconds left to put the game out of doubt before the Ducks scored again. With 2:36 left, Andrews, who had gone 3-for-3 from outside the arc that night, made a pullup 3-pointer that doubled UCLA’s lead and infuriated the home crowd. All nine of the Bruins’ final points were scored by Andrews and Sebastian Mack together. Mack went 7 of 8 from the free-throw line and finished with 16 points.

With Adem Bona limited to four points and four rebounds due to foul problems, Lazar Stefanovic filled in part of the void on the interior with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. With 16 points and 8 rebounds, N’Faly Dante led Oregon. Shelstad finished with 10 points but was 0 for 4 from three-point range. Jadrian Tracey contributed 15 points.

The Ducks made 23 of 54 (42.6%) field goals and 6 of 22 shots from beyond the arc. UCLA made 6 of 12 long-range shots and 26 of 58 (44.8%) field goals. In the last six games, UCLA has won five of them. Oregon’s loss drops them to a half-game behind Arizona in the Pac-12 standings. On Sunday, the Wildcats will host Stanford.
